Enoch Hill Wind Farm
Project Outline
R&A Group’s Electrical Services division were appointed to deliver electrical, fire, intruder and CCTV installations for the main substation at Enoch Hill Wind Farm in East Ayrshire. The 15-turbine site is located near the village of New Cumnock and forms part of a wider cluster of renewable developments in the area, where R&A Group have previously supported projects including North Kyle and South Kyle Windfarms. Once operational, Enoch Hill will generate up to 70MW of renewable electricity.
The scope of works required the installation of small power, lighting and heating across all key substation rooms, including:
- Switch room
- Control room
- Transformer room
- Office
- Stores
- Toilets
- Kitchen
- Drying room
In addition to the electrical package, R&A Group delivered associated fire, intruder and CCTV systems through our specialist Fire & Security division, and coordinated with Circulair for the installation of air conditioning systems.
Works commenced in June 2024 with a planned six-week installation period, followed by staged commissioning activities leading up to final completion.
Project Outcome
The project was successfully completed and fully commissioned in June 2025, providing the client with a reliable and compliant electrical infrastructure across the substation.
The completed installation ensures safe and efficient operation of the facility and supports the wider renewable generation capability of the Enoch Hill Wind Farm. The integration of electrical, security, fire protection and climate-control systems demonstrates R&A Group’s Electrical Services division’s ability to deliver coordinated, multi-disciplinary packages on large-scale energy projects.
